LOUD Upsets Fnatic in VALORANT Champions 2023 Playoffs Opener

LOUD conquered Fnatic 2-0 at VALORANT Champions 2023, marking Fnatic’s first international tournament loss this year and only their second defeat in 2023 overall.

Despite Fnatic’s dominant run with victories at VCT LOCK//IN and VCT Masters Tokyo, LOUD managed to reverse their luck after a winless VCT Masters Tokyo outing.

The triumph is particularly remarkable considering LOUD’s victory on both Ascent and Lotus maps.

Fnatic’s 11-game winning streak at VCT international events this year came to an end as they lost in Ascent, 11-13, and Lotus, 6-13.

Fnatic’s otherwise near-flawless record, including an undefeated 9-0 run in the VCT EMEA league regular season, suffered a blow in the Grand Final against Team Liquid, where they lost 1-3.

Consequently, Fnatic finds themselves in the lower bracket for the first time this year and faces elimination if they lose another series in the World Championship event.
