In an emotional farewell video released by EVOS Legends in its Youtube channel, team manager Aji Wicaksono revealed it was actually Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera who made the decision to leave the team and not the other way around.

This revelation ended rumors that one of the top Indonesian teams purposely released Dlar in the middle of the season to prevent him from joining MPL PH teams in Season 12, which serves as a ticket to the M5 World Championship.

“Today is our last day with Dlar. This decision is from Dlar himself. Dlar decided to try and return to the Philippine scene,” said Wicaksono in Bahasa.

On Thursday, EVOS Legends made the shocking announcement that the Filipino EXP laner is already a free agent after parting ways with the team.

This sparked rumors that the former MPL ID champions intentionally made the move mid-season to prevent Dlar from joining other teams.

However, the video released by EVOS Legends, as well as Wicaksono’s statement, made it clear that it was Dlar’s wish to get released by the team.

During his time with EVOS Legends, Dlar mostly found himself on the sidelines. He joined the team in Season 10 but was placed in their MDL team. In Season 11, he didn’t even make it to the lineup and was given the role of a content creator instead.

The former ONIC PH star was included in the team’s 2023 MSC roster where he only played one series before getting lined up again for Season 12.
