Kelra apologizes once more!
Homophobic Duane “Kelra” Pillas of OMEGA Esports once again expressed his apologies on social media.
The player uploaded his apology online following OMEGA’s sanctions imposed on the player.
“It is our responsibility to take care of our athletes by making sure that we provide a holistic development plan for them.” told OMEGA Esports in a statement.
The organization is imposing a fine equivalent to his one month salary on top penalties given by MPL PH.
In the same post, the organization assured that such kind of action will never happen again.
Kelra on his own social media account accepted all the sanctions dropped on his name.
The player has also apologized to the players whom he offended as well as those people he has affected.
“It was explained to me how heavy my mistakes were due to the words I said. I admit that I didn’t put much thought into what I said, and because of this, it resulted in actions and values that are opposite to being a professional player,” he told.
“And I would also like to give my sincerest apologies to Ramellabah ,sa IDONOTSLEEP ESPORTS and sa Bigetron Alpha. I deeply apologize for my behavior and the problems that I caused. [I] was unprofessional. [I] am sorry and I want to be a better person. I will be more respectful towards others,” he added.
Following OMEGA’s sanctions, Kelra is now under a 2-week suspension. In addition, Kelra will also pay fines sanctioned by MPL and OMEGA Esports.
With the suspensions he’s facing, Kelra will be missing out at least five matches with his team. This will remain tentative however as the country remains under quarantine protocols which hinders the continuation of MPL in the country.
