Confused about how MLBB teams profit? Here’s how Dogie explains.
NXP EVOS player Setsuna “Dogie” Ignacio explained to his fans about how franchise model system works in MPL.
Aside from the prize pools, Dogie told that teams also profit through the franchise system of Moonton.
In his explanation, he also mentioned about him not wanting to tackle the Duane “Kelra” Pillas issue. He told that the player has already learned his lesson.
Akosidogie in his vlog mentioned about his fans asking him about the MPL PH Season 8’s prize pool. In his response, the famous content creator and streamer explained about why MPL MPL has a lower prize pool compared to other esports tournaments.
“A lot of people messaged me saying the prize pool of the MPL is too small. 35,000 USD for the champions,” he told.
“If you think that’s small, you’re being irrational,” he added.
Aside from his comments, the player also clarified how the new franchise system in the league works. Although Dogie did not specify about how much can teams profit from the model.
“I can’t disclose how much. Why? Because Moonton will be angry and we’ll get penalized. I don’t want to be like Ghost Wrecker, Exhort, and Kelra,” he told.
The player continued to explain and even cited the stickers as an example for the business scheme.
“Let’s just say it’s a 50/50 share per season on the stickers, it’s already big enough. If you are the champion, in three months, you already get your investment back,” told the player.
Dogie claimed that the business scheme is the main reason why teams exert effort in applying for franchise. More so, the player reprimanded fans to stop hating the game because of the prize pools.
“Don’t hate the game just because the other one has a bigger prize pool,” stated Dogie. “Be open-minded. We are all under the same system, esports.”
In the entry of new franchise model in the country, new teams have entered the scene. TNC Pro Team, ECHO, RSG PH, and Nexplay EVOS have entered the scene following the entry of the new system.
