Dogie’s Hidden Agenda Revealed in Mini Facebook Vlog

Did Akosi Dogie just sell his soul to Rivalry?

No?

Well, it looks like it.

In a video posted on his official Facebook page, the popular Mobile Legends: Bang Bang streamer talked about the MPL Philippines’ decreased viewership – without presenting any facts to support his claims.

Dogie went on to talk about the ‘viewership’ topic for a couple of minutes, sharing that Z4pnu already backed out of buying a franchise slot because of the dip. He also said that even if the MPL brings him back, he could no longer hype the league anymore like before.

Clearly, the former Nexplay EVOS roamer was trying to frame something. And at the 2:55-mark of the 8 minute and 34 second video, it finally became clear.

“Di praktikal talaga e. Sayang e. I think yung pinaka-good approach maging shareholder na lang ako ng isang company. Ako to be honest backout ako,” said Dogie in the video titled “ANONG NANGYARI MOONTON?

“Dipende na lang, ito sakin lang ah, if okay pwede na maging brand deals yung mga lisensyadong betting sites. Ayun, madali ang dami ngayon guys. Pero hindi tayo dun sa alam mo yun, sa hindi lisensyado na betting site. Dito tayo sa lisensyado kasi yun kaya mag-luwal e. Kaya mag-bigay e,” he continued.

It turns out that Dogie had a specific agenda. He aimed to convince his audience that allowing betting sites to invest in teams or the league could potentially rescue the MPL’s declining viewership numbers, thus creating more opportunities for investors.

Dogie is one of Rivalry’s biggest talents in the Philippines along with Z4pnu and Kayla Heredia.

Some people accused Dogie of selling out and prioritizing his own interests over his fans and the community as a whole. Others pointed out the potential harm that promoting gambling could bring, especially to younger viewers who might be influenced by his words.

The MPL Philippines has yet to release a statement regarding the matter, but the incident has once again brought up the issue of the relationship between esports and gambling.

While some esports tournaments and leagues have welcomed sponsors and partners from the gambling industry, others have banned them entirely due to the potential risks and negative impact on the community – especially for a professional league.

“Ayun dipende na lang kay Moonton kung paano nila ioopen yung ano pero sana hindi pa naman naguguluhan yung mga company,” said Dogie, who recently accused Bren Esports of match-fixing due to odds.

“Kasi ako kapag ganyan guys na nakikita kong downtrend? Emergency button ‘yan e. May problema tayo, hindi tayo uptrend downtrend tayo.”

Is this a stunt to force the MPL PH to forge a partnership with Rivalry? or is he really concerned about the league? At this point, no one really knows what runs around that man’s head.
