Last year’s top-performing team in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia will not be competing this season.
MPL MY Defending champion Team HAQ had a disappointing regular season and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
In their last game, they suffered a loss to Red Giants Esports, which was a must-win game as they were tied with Madness Esports.
In the series before that, Madness Esports won 2-0 against Team Secret. As a result, Team HAQ finished ninth in the standings with a 2-7 score, winning only six games out of a total of 15.
This is a significant drop from their performance last season, where they had an 8-6 record in the regular season after coming through the qualifiers.
Last season, after losing to Orange Esports in the upper bracket, Team HAQ had to fight their way through the lower bracket to reach the grand final, where they defeated defending champion Todak.
However, this year, with their elimination, they will need to participate in the qualifier again if they wish to enter Season 12.
