Omega Esports, ONIC PH Complete MPL PH Season 11 Playoffs Cast

Omega Esports and ONIC PH completed the MPL Philippines Season 11 playoffs cast after punching their respective tickets during the final week of the regular season, Saturday at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.

ONIC PH managed to snag the fifth spot after RSG PH’s 2-0 victory over Nexplay EVOS before ending the day with a statement win over the league-leading Bren Esports.

Head coach Kevin “Bluffzy” Reyes said that the team were dead-set on getting the win over Bren Esports despite already clinching their spot in the playoffs earlier in the day.

“Nasa isip namin na hindi pa rin talaga kami safe. Na talagang yung position namin is talagang delikado knowing na kumbaga hindi pa secured yung spot namin sa playoffs so talagang naggrind talaga kami sa one and a half week na yun,” said Bluffzy.

Meanwhile, the SMART-backed squad officially secured the sixth seed after sweeping the also-ran TNC, 2-0, in the second match-up of the triple header Saturday. Omega Esports’ win also officially eliminated the rookie-laden Nexplay EVOS.

Omega Esports technical coach Jomie “P4kbet” Abalos bared that the team’s familiarity with TNC, whom they often face in ranked games, played a huge part in their important victory.

ONIC PH and Omega Esports will join Bren Esports, ECHO, Blacklist International, and RSG Slate PH in the postseason.

On the other hand, TNC and Nexplay EVOS missed the MPL Philippines playoffs for the second consecutive time.
