Vietnam to Host SEA Esports Championship 2021

A Southeast Asian esports tournament will take place in Vietnam!

The 2021 SEA Esports Championship will include three esports games: League of Legends: Wild Rift, PUBG Mobile and Valorant with a total prize pool up to 140,000 USD.

Recently, VietNam Recreational Esport Association (VIRESA) has officially announced that they will cooperate with VNG to host the SEA eSports Championship 2021 with a prize money of up to 140,000 USD (more than 3 billion VND).

SEA EC 2021 will deploy three games in an online platform. The games are PUBG Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift and Valorant. The qualifiers will take place in November-December 2021 in each country. Meanwhile, the tournament is expected to welcome 52 teams representing 10 esports federations in Southeast Asia to compete in Vietnam. The event will officially take place in January 2022.

The tournament is dubbed as FBANG 2021 Southeast Asian Esports Tournament in Vitenam. FBang is an online platform that organizes and broadcasts topnotch esports matches. It has a goal of elevating the Vietnamese esports community in the international arena.

Besides, FBang is also a livestream platform – a place to honor and develop talents through professional training programs to become promising talents in the future.

Meanwhile, Mr. Do Viet Hung – General Secretary of VIRESA said that two out of three sports at SEA EC 2021 are competitions for medals at SEA Games 31. Therefore, SEA EC 2021 not only means the first tournament, a major annual event in Southeast Asia. It is also an opportunity for esports athletes to rub off on the eve of the 31st SEA Games.
