Moonton Opens MPL in Brazil, First in South America

Moonton is now going to Brazil!

Game devs of Moonton have now expanded Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) and is now arriving in Brazil, the first outside Southeast Asia.

MPL Heads to Brazil

MPL Brazil will be the first of its kind outside the Southeast Asia. The competition with $30,000 USD is set to arrive in the country on August. The said competition will also feature 8 times similar to other MPL’s setup.

The first ever MPL Brazil will be inviting six teams. Two teams will come from the qualifiers to complete the full circle of eight teams.

Moonton has partnered with TikTok LIVE to make the competition more exciting and interesting.

Additionally, the competition will also be streamed on TikTok, Facebook, Nimo TV, Twitch and YouTube. 

“We have a sizable community in Brazil. [The team] want to continue nurturing that love and passion. We want to be the extension purveyor of the new Brazilian digital lifestyle. It’s a mobile-first market. By making esports part of video games and competitive gaming, we feel mobile esports is here to stay. It’s there already, it’s extremely big and when we feel that, we want to be part of that.” told Ajay Jilka, Moonton’s Director of Regional Esports Partnerships in an interview.

MPL Strongest in Southeast Asia

Mobile Legends has rapidly grew in popularity over the years. Currently, the game holds a huge fanbase in Southeast Asia.

The game has also earned multiple successes including growing from roughly 350,000 peak viewership in May 2020 to over 1.4m in May 2021.

In the M2 MLBB Grand Finals, the game garnered a 3m peak simultaneous viewers.

With the game entering Brazil’s competitive scene, MLBB now has the potential to making it across all regions in the world.
