NACT To Implement ‘BTK Rule,’ Requires Players To Have Passport, Visa

It seems that the North America Challenger Tournament has learned its lesson.

The NACT is set to implement a new set of rules for players – obviously to prevent another mishap which the BloodThirstyKings encountered prior to the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup.

BTK was supposed to represent North America in the MSC after winning the NACT Spring championship. 

However, a couple of players did not have a passport which forced the team to skip the tournament and hand the slot to Outplay. 

Aside from not having passports, a minor member of the team failed to get his parent’s consent to travel to Cambodia for the MSC. Reiniel “URESHIII” Logronio, the team’s EXP laner, also failed to show up in the grand finals as he had yet to secure his US VISA at the time.

Now, players who wish to join the NACT must have passports or a US VISA to participate in the tournament. Minor players are also required to present a notarized consent from a legal guardian.

“Players entering the Regular Season must either be a standing US/Cana-dian Citizen with valid passports expiring no earlier than July 2024 or have valid United States VISA that allows them to travel to the United States during the required offline Playoff and Grand Final,” said the league.

“Upon entering the Regular Season, players must demonstrate valid documentation for entering or staying in the United States, failure to do so might result in Disqualification and more

Players below the age of 18 yrs old must have notarized consent from a legal guardian for all required travel plans that might take place for NACT Fall Season (Domestic Travel) and M5 World Championship,” the statement continued.

The NACT is set to begin on August.
