Following HomeBois’ 2-1 victory over Madness Esports at MPL MY Season 11 Week 5, coach Steve “Dale” Vitug had a lot to say in the post-game interview.

He began by apologizing to the HomeBois staff and players for their recent poor performance: “Una sa lahat, gusto ko humingi ng tawad sa staff at players ng HomeBois sa downfall namen and then nagpapasalamat ako dahil andyan parin sila at patuloy kaming sinusuportahan.”

(First of all, I would like to apologize to all the staff and players of HomeBois for our downfall, and I’m thankful that they are still there to support our campaign.)

However, Vitug’s next statement was even more surprising, as he extended his apologies to the family members, friends, and fans of Sepat and Saiful, two members of the HomeBois team.

Sepat is a player, and Saiful is an analyst, and they are brothers who recently lost their father unexpectedly during a game against Todak on April 8.

Despite this tragedy, Sepat continued playing, much to the dismay of fans who thought he should have taken a break.

Vitug acknowledged this and expressed his regret to all those who were affected by the situation.

“Sorry rin sa mga friends, family, and fans kay Sepat at Saiful dahil pinilit ko sila paglaruin despite sa nangyari sa father nila.”

(I would also like to say sorry to all the friends, family, and fans of Sepat and Saiful for forcing them to play despite what happened to their father.)

Overall, Vitug’s statements showed both gratitude for his team’s support and empathy towards the players and their personal situations.
