It’s really haunting when you were poised to represent an entire region in the world stage and you failed to do it.

Former Bren Esports’ Valorant player Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan admitted that some of the team members still have regrets on not being able to represent the Philippines in the VCT Masters Berlin, which started on September 9.

Days before what could have been the team’s biggest tournament yet, Riot announced that Bren Esports will not be able to join the competition due to visa issues. It was later on revealed that there was a delay in the release of their visas.

In an exclusive interview with HYPRGAME, DubsteP admitted that some of the team members haven’t moved on from the issue yet.

“Some of us still regret, and some of us haven’t moved on yet. But it’s completely normal for this to happen for a lot of players who were dreaming of being in the big stages,” he said.

But the team isn’t giving up just yet. DubsteP said that they are preparing for what’s about to come. This, despite not joining the VCT Masters Berlin

“It was a history being made by us which was crazy to think about. We are doing our best to move on from what happened and we are preparing for what’s next and what’s about to come,” he stated.

Team Secret entered the Valorant scene after acquiring entire Bren Esports’ Valorant roster. The organization announced the acquisition just days after the visa issue became public.

Meanwhile, DubsteP said that the entire team is grateful to find a new home with Team Secret.

“It feels great. I mean who wouldn’t feel great to be part of Team Secret. I’m happy that we found a new home. We can showcase our skills to all the people who are supporting us,” he said.

He also added that to be part of a global esports brand is one of his dreams.

“To be able to bring Team Secret’s name is such an honor for me. And as an esports there is one of my dreams to be in a bigger orgs like this,” he stated.

Despite the fact that they will not be competing in VCT Masters 3 Berlin, Riot gave the players 175 VCT points and prize money for qualifying. The VCT points will be transferred to Team Secret. Regulation states that a core of at least three players must sign with the same organization to preserve the points.
