OG and Alliance are once again in a problematic issue. This time, both teams are at the same spot!
Top streamer Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski, and Team Secret CEO John Yao have called out organizations who are selling “shady” Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
Gorgc specified OG and Alliance on his livestream. Meanwhile, Yao had not specified any organization and left a message for everyone’s interpretation.
Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are pieces of digital art stored in a unit of data on the Blockchain network.
Recently, OG released its third NFT which sold out for as quick as 10 seconds. Gorgc fired shots at OG saying that these NFTs which were expensive, had nothing to do with Dota.
Additionally, the streamer claims that OG sold for a total of $500,000 in just two hours. The shocked streamer told that the sale was completely impossible.
“They sold 3,326 (3,336 in actual) times $150 in two hours? No way in hell dude. I will fucking bet everything I own on the fact that they did not sell that many. Zero chance. Zero chance they sold $500,000 worth of boxes in two hours. There’s not enough money in Dota that people would ever pay for that,” Gorgc said.
The streamer also told that the sale appeared to have been a legit scam. On his stream, the streamer revealed that he went through the comment section of OG’s sale on Twitter.
According to him, only a few talked positively about the NFT. In addition, he told that most users who talked good things about the sale were not even Dota 2 fans.
“How does the value of the NFT increase when nobody fucking wants it? Tell me. How does anybody want it? It’s a dogshit scam,” he said.
Meanwhile, Team Secret’s CEO John Yao says almost the same thing.
On his official Facebook, Yao told that organizations are simply selling NFTs to scam their fans.
“esports orgs releasing shitty NFTs are just scamming their fanbases don’t @ me,” his post read.
Additionally, Team Secret on Twitter took a jab on the issue in their own Team Secret way.
The organization posted a meme that seemed to embarrass Alliance and OG with their ‘NFT scam’.
As of this moment, Alliance and OG have yet to release their statement on the issue. Neither of the organizations has clarified their side of the allegation.
