Nikobaby Rumored to Return to Team SMG

Although Nikobaby already expressed his retirement from the professional scene, it seems he will be returning to Team SMG.

Even after less than stellar results from Asia Pacific Predator League 2022, Team SMG was still interested in Nikobaby. This was due to the rumors that the team would proceed in signing a contract with the Bulgarian carry.

Should the contract be done in the near future, Nikobaby would be backtracking on his words to retire.

The latest rumor was spread by a local Filipino community Dota member. He had connections with the professional players in SEA region, which made him an “in-the-know”.

Initially, he said that there would be a player from the Philippines in Team SMG, which led to rumors about Nikobaby joining the team.

Fans were taking the leaks further by mentioning the full roster of Team SMG itself. Aside from Nikobaby, Xavius is also expected to join the team as the hard support.

Most of them were puzzled by Niko’s decision to return to the professional scene, even after claiming to retire.

However, most of them also understood that he might still have a competitive drive. Niko’s latest experience with SEA region also ended on a high note, achieving many things with Mineski and WG.Unity before joining Alliance.

His familiarity means that adaptation won’t be necessary with the current playstyle of SEA Dota.
