Speculations followed after Moonton went viral for its exclusivity contract specifically for its MLBB franchise.
Prior to the publicity of the said contract, MSC champions Execration released its MLBB roster.
Meanwhile, Bigetron Esports reportedly dropped their Wild Rift roster for Mobile Legends. This, according to reports, is in relation to their exclusivity contract with Moonton.
“Several Esports orgs including @bigetronesports may be required to release their Wild Rift rosters as a result of signing an exclusivity contract with Moonton, restricting them to be able to compete only in @MobileLegendsOL and thus are denied the right to field a #WildRift team” a tweet told.
On the other hand, a Riot employee Tweeted saying that Moonton is pressing teams’ freedom of choice.
“Been receiving multiple inquiries regarding WR teams in Indonesia. We would like to reassure our players that Riot SEA does not restrict WR SEA esports teams from participating in other mobile esports leagues, & we empower our teams to exercise freedom of choice in this space.” told the employee.
The biggest question revolving around MPL Philippines is why Execration dropped its championship roster.
Execration announced its Wild Rift roster in February this year. Although unconfirmed if the team still exists, does this mean Execration will try to explore its luck in the Rift?
