Iman Troye Treats Rising COVID Cases as Joke, Deactivates Twitter After Getting Clowned by Netizens

A backlash well deserved for treating a serious matter as a joke.

Malaysian singer Siti Nur Alyssa Sahabudin otherwise known as Iman Troye, has shared on Twitter a message seemingly celebrating the country’s surge on COVID-19 cases which has been happening in the country in the past few days.

“Happy 6.9k everyone! Congratulations! Hopefully tomorrow we’ll reach 7k hihi <33”  the singer told, adding the hashtag “#KerajaanGagal”.

The tweet of the singer did not deserve any celebration as netizens were quick in calling out the icon for her insensitive remarks.

“Frontliners are exhausted, people are dying. Yet you have the gut to actually tweet ‘Hopefully tomorrow will reach hihi <33’ like its a joke?? So f**king insensitive,” a Twitter user replied to the singer, emphasizing that such issue should never be treated as a joke.

“Covid-19 has taken so many lives and souls. Yeah, it’s funny until it happens to you or your family. Iman Troye should be banned from this industry. Embarrassing.” the user further added.

Aside from such, the singer also received other negative comments all saying that the singer was very insensitive with her actions, and that why would she do such when in fact, she herself is a violator of health protocols.

“You didn’t even follow the SOPs, but you had the tendency to call out the government? You also failed from the beginning for not adhering to the rules,” another user replied.

As of this moment, it seems that the singer is not taking all the bashing so lightly as she has already deactivated her Twitter account.
