Despite having a good run, Alliance may be facing some massive changes soon!
All memes targeting ppd may have gotten real as the retired player and The International champion just joined Alliance, currently EU’s top 1, as their trial coach.
Peter “ppd” Dager had just signed a contract with Alliance to serve as the team’s trial coach at least for the remainder of Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Season 2.
“Every leader needs trusted and experienced advisors! It’s with that said we are happy to share that @Peterpandam will join us as a Coach on a trial basis! Read: https://thealliance.gg/alliance-trials-ppd… #LongLiveAlliance #Dota2” the Alliance told on Twitter to which ppd retweeted with a caption “2nd TI ring long overdue. Let’s get it”
Gustav “s4” Magnusson has some good vision for the team in having ppd as their coach.
“It’s cool to bring in Peter in the coaching position since he’s been someone I’ve wanted to play with in the past,” the player told, adding that ppd’s calm attitude may play a big role as a coach.
“Ppd is very straightforward and calm, so it’s gonna help us make good calls ingame when the pressure gets high. Captaining and drafting will still be our team’s idea, but ppd will have a huge impact there as well with him being one of the best drafters in Dota 2.” he added.
With the opportunity given to him, ppd also thanked Alliance. “Big shoutout to the team and s4 for believing in me… Coaching is something I always wanted to try and I’m grateful for the opportunity. We’ve had a great start to the season and the plan is to finish the season strong!” the team’s new coach said.
Before signing with Alliance, ppd has been with Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2020 before retiring from the scene.
Currently, Alliance now has three The International winners under the names of ppd, s4, and the organization’s CEO itself, Jonathan “Loda” Berg.
