Supposed ‘Mid God’ is slaying… weak teams?
Superstar midlaner Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan made his comeback mark in the scene through DPC after leading Team Liquid, 2-1, versus Brame, arguably the weakest EU team as of the moment.
SumaiL has put on a show with his Puck pick whose performance became a decider in their series versus Brame. His aggressive play style seemed to have paid off after he found multiple crucial finds which created massive team fights favoring Team Liquid. The same play style also caused as a disruption in almost all of Brame’s attempts for counter-initiations.
MiCKe on the other hand complemented SumaiL with his Faceless Void whose Chronosphere served as a follow-up for SumaiL huge damage versus Brame’s Juggernaut whose life was eventually taken away by SumaiL’s Illusory Orb in the same clash.
During the same clash, SumaiL’s dream coil drew a massive advantage after locking down a kill on Centaur, and eventually securing a team wipe.
Brame was squeezed out of a ‘GG’ in the 35-minute mark, ending the game with 15 kills, 16 assists, and zero deaths under SumaiL’s belt. The midlaner’s power spike handed out 25 combined kills for miCKe and qojqva.
After the series, Team Liquid’s coach gave his high praises for the forgotten ‘God’ where he noted that SumaiL’s contributions outside the team, and that teams are losing for not signing him as an official player.
“I’m really surprised more teams aren’t lining up to talk to [SumaiL]. His skill is right up there and personality-wise he fits in excellently. He’s been teaching us a lot and he leads a lot of the replay sessions. He’s not anything at all like what I think people would expect, he’s a super humble and nice guy,” William “Blitz“ Lee told, coach of Team Liquid.
Blitz also teased that the team might also be showing off crazy play styles in the future as they were thinking of ways to better play with SumaiL’s play making.
“Further down the line, when we get a little more comfortable and we have a few more days [to practice], then you could probably see us go back to doing crazy things. SumaiL is an excellent safelaner, miCKe can also play mid, Max can also play mid. Give us a bit more time and we’re gonna figure some stuff out. How much liquid needs him in the coming weeks,” told Blitz.
SumaiL got integrated as a stand-in for Team Liquid on April 24 after the team’s official top-laner Samuel “Boxi” Svahn announced that he was taking a break from the scene to spend more time with his family.
Although SumaiL proved that he still has the fire within him, he has yet to prove something as Liquid is yet to face bigger teams such as OG, Team Secret, and Alliance who are competing for the top rank in EU.
