Valve has finally released patch 7.33 for Dota 2 after almost a year of anticipation.
The new patch has brought significant improvements to the map, including new gameplay mechanics and a 40% increase in size, according to Valve.
While the community has largely welcomed the changes, some pro players, such as Shopify Rebellion’s Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, have mixed feelings.
During a post-game interview at DreamLeague Season 19, Arteezy shared his thoughts on the patch.
Despite some backlash, he found the changes fascinating and likened the new map to a Warcraft 3 game, such as “hell vs heaven or Angel Arena.”
It’s worth noting that Dota 2 was originally a game mod for Warcraft III: Frozen Throne expansion pack, and many consider it to be the peak of the MOBA genre.
Arteezy also highlighted the fun aspect of the changes, as people try new strategies and experiment with different approaches.
He amusingly commented, “Right now, people are dying around and dying everywhere for no reason.”
Overall, the new patch has breathed fresh life into Dota 2 and is expected to keep the community engaged for some time.
