Yawi Reveals Omega Talked Trash Behind His Back

Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera was pumped up following ECHO’s dominant 2-0 sweep of Omega Esports in the MPL Philippines Season 11 regular season last Friday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

The 21-year-old ECHO roamer was seen taunting the Omega Esports side just moments after his team completed the quick win.

It turns out, Yawi was at the receiving end of harsh words from Omega players in their first round match-up – which ECHO won, 2-1. That, according to Yawi, triggered what transpired post-game.

“Weeks ago, may nagsabi po sa akin at nagpakita na rin. Ako naman po kasi, hindi naman po ako nantatrashtalk, nauuna. Ang Omega po kasi, pinagtatrashtalk po ako nang patago,” Yawi revealed to MPL Philippines host Mara Aquino.

“May nagsabi sa akin kaya binawian ko lang po ngayon sa laro,” added Yawi, who politely declined to name the players that talked trash behind his back.

Still, the former Nexplay EVOS star cleared that all is well between him and the Omega Esports players.

“Outside the game, wala naman po akong problema sa kanila, sa game lang po. Binawi ko na lang po sa laro,” he said.

Aside from getting revenge, Yawi managed to help ECHO secure the second seed in the MPL Philippines Season 11 playoffs.

The world champion roamer said that it’s very important for the team to gain extra advantage in the playoffs especially now that the rest of the MPL PH field are peaking before the postseason.

“Lakas po kasi ng lahat ng teams ngayon, so advantage po kapag nasa next round ka agad tapos wala ka sa first round. Sa first round din po isa lang din po yung buhay, so matalo laglag ka agad.”
