Following the recent exodus of pro players in the Chinese Dota 2 DPC scene, allegations of corruption and game-fixing have emerged in another region.

YouTuber Morf has released an expose claiming that there has been cheating in the European Dota 2 scene.

According to a series of tweets that translated the video, Morf’s agent infiltrated a closed Discord server called The Red Book, where people gathered to play Dota.

In this server, Morf’s agent encountered Anton Monetin, a former Winstrike Academy coach who allegedly openly bragged about betting and match-fixing.

Over time, Morf’s agent gained Anton’s trust and was offered the chance to bet on certain fixed matches, with both their money being used, and the profits being split.

The match in question was the DPC Tour 1 Qualifier. Morf has stated that holding individuals accountable in the match-fixing mafia can be difficult due to many being lazy or liars.

Anton allegedly earned around 200-300k RUB per month.

Furthermore, the issue of match-fixing for bets is not new to the Dota 2 community.

In the past, there have been several instances of players being caught and punished for match-fixing, leading to a loss of trust among fans and a tarnished reputation for the game.

These recent allegations of match-fixing in the European Dota 2 scene highlight the continued need for vigilance and action against this ongoing problem in the game.

Valve has yet to respond to these allegations.
