At such a young age, Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco’s son Jzeus already expressed his intention to play professional VALORANT just like his father.

Moreover, Jzeus also said that he wants to team up with his dad when the time comes.

“My dad… I want to be a pro player like him. I want to be on the same team as him,” said Jzeus in Team Secret’s short documentary titled ‘The Story of JessieVash, the godfather of Filipino esports’ which was released last Wednesday.

The documentary featured JessieVash’s humble beginnings in the esports scene as well as his sacrifices just to balance out both his professional career and responsibilities to his family and his son.

The 34-year-old VALORANT star already played in different titles such as CSGO, Overwatch, Mobile Legends, DOTA 2 before finding his way to Riot’s 5v5 character-based tactical FPS.

But before making it to the pros, JessieVash had to overcome the biggest challenge of his life when his father passed away when he was just four years of age. Growing up, the former Bren Esports skipper had to make ends meet by working at an internet cafe that only pays 50 pesos a day.

“Growing up, sariling diskarte rin kasi ako sa pera nun so nag-spotter ako sa bilyaran. [Tapos napunta ako sa computer shop], natuwa sakin yung may-ari kasi nga ang liit ko lang nun so nag-work ako doon,” said JessieVash.

The documentary also touched his experiences in his previous game titles before eventually leading up to his VALORANT career.

JessieVash said that when the game was announced, he immediately went to work and studied the game while also watching CS:GO tournaments to help him adjust. He believes at the time that VALORANT is the game for him and will be his final stop before he retires.

Make no mistake, JessieVash is not close to retiring just yet as he wants to win a world championship in VALORANT first before hanging up his gaming gear.
