Midnight Joins NXP Evos Despite Word War History with Akosidogie

Mobile Legends caster Neil “Midnight” De Guzman announced on Wednesday (July 14) that he will be part of Nexplay Evos as its analyst.

The team also welcomed Midnight in a Facebook post.

“Nostradamus? We have the likes of him nowadays. One of them is in the Mobile Legends PH competitive scene. An analyst and a shout caster most known for his opinion and predictions on events circling the league,” Nexplay’s post said.

“Yes, your eyes don’t play tricks on you. A warm welcome to Nexplay’s very own Nostradamus for MPL PH, our newest analyst: Neil “Midnight” De Guzman,” it added.

Midnight is known in the Mobile Legends PH industry for his straightforward and no holds barred opinion in the competitive scene.

His opinions have also engaged him in a word war with Nexplay’s former coach and now player Setsuna “Akosidogie” Ignacio.

Akosidogie was highly criticized for making jokes about him being “raped” and “enjoying” it in June last year.

Then shoutcaster Midnight called out Akosidogie’s remarks and said he was insensitive towards sexual harassment victims.

“Very insensitive. There’s a rape issue and you’re commenting that you enjoyed being raped just to joke? Your toxicity and negativity are okay but rape is a different topic. Have a little decency. This is not a joke. This is not like LoL (League of Legends) community where you can just throw insensitive remarks and nothing will happen.” Midnight said in local language.
