Indian Government to Ban Battleground Mobile Again?

Not long after PUBG Mobile Indian players celebrated the return of Krafton’s game in India, Legislative Assembly member Ninong Ering issued a letter, requesting ban on Battleground Mobile India to the Prime Minister.

The letter was issued even before the game was officially released. He uploaded the announcement on his Twitter account with a photo of the request letter.

In his letter, he said that Krafton hired former Tencent’s employees, and he considers the game is still serving as a pawn of the Chinese government. In fact, Krafton has already made a special division for India that stores its data within the country later. He asked Battleground Mobile India to be banned, as happened to PUBG Mobile in September 2020.

Battleground Mobile India is a PUBG Mobile custody game previously released by Tencent. Mid-May, Krafton has opened the pre-registration. With the return of PUBG Mobile specifically for India servers, pro players promise that they will take part in major PUBG Mobile tournaments in the world.

It’s such a shame if PUBG Mobile India will be banned again by the government. Skipping major tournaments in India and South Asian tournaments level alone might be dreadful for Indian professional players. Hopefully Krafton can convince the Indian government that this game is safe for Indian players.
