Although DPC EEU has been temporarily postponed due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Valve has confirmed that they will not ban Russian players.

The war situation in Ukraine has not improved. Russia now has also been subject to various sanctions from all directions. In fact, some game companies such as Sony have also begun to limit their products in Russia. This is a sanction for their attack on Ukraine.

As it turns out, Valve doesn’t agree with that treatment, and they still have their games wide open to Russian players, especially Dota 2.

Valve explained this at the same time as the announcement of the DPC Spring Tour 2022. They explained the DPC Spring Tour first, the tournament details and the items that Dota players can get if they participate in the fantasy league.

In the same announcement, Valve also indirectly informed Russian players about their position on the sanctions.

Valve explained that Dota is a “global” game, and The International itself is a tournament that celebrates esports internationally. They wanted the players to be unrestricted with matters of country, race, and so on.

Valve emphasizes the connection between humans, which can be realized with the participation of all Dota 2 fans.
