Riot Games has officially announced the penalty for the case of player Jay “Sinatraa” Won of the Sentinels team. The player will be banned for six months for not cooperating with the investigation into allegations of abuse related to his ex-girlfriend.
Sinatraa violated rule 8.1 of the global policy for the professional VALORANT system, regarding its cooperation with investigations by the tournament operator. Riot has given their arguments on the conclusion of a ban on Sinatraa. Accordingly, although the investigation has not come to a final conclusion, Sinatraa has engaged in improper conduct during the investigation cooperation with Riot’s Valorant tournament management team.
The current investigation has not ended and Sinatraa’s sentence can be extended if more circumstances arise. Sinatraa’s punishment officially took effect from March this year and is expected to end in September. During that time, he will not be able to participate in any Valorant tournaments.

“Cooperation in these investigations is extremely important, especially when these allegations are of a particularly serious nature when it comes to issues like sexual assault,” Riot said. In addition, Sinatraa will also be required to complete a professional player behavior training course in order to qualify for a return to the Valorant tournament in the future.
