The Philippine Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community was flocked by multiple opinions after a shocking number of homophobic slurs directed towards Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna, captain of Blacklist International, who lost against Bren Esports in a clinching series for the MPL PH Season 7.

OhMyV33nus gave his response to these homophobes following their 2-1 win versus Execration on Friday, April 30.

He shared that such offensive comments are inevitable, and that for his fellow LGBTQ+ members who aspire to become esports professionals to stay strong.

“Just live the way you are. Because for me in the current situation, we have no escape from such… you will experience such thing, so you have to stay strong and surround yourself with nice people and be the best example you can be to lessen this kind of discrimination against our community,” the Blacklists’ captain told.

Other people who backed OhMyV33nus up are several shoutcasters, and also the Bren Esports themselves who warned that they will be banning users who will give homophobic comments directed towards the Blacklist support player.

Villaluna also told that he was not affected by the comments at all, but because a lot of people already got involved in the situation, he decided to give his two-cents.

“The only thing that I can tell to these people who supported and defended me: kill them with kindness! If you see more comments related to such, don’t fight them because if you do, it will only worsen the situation.”

Following their latest win over Execration, Blacklist International is set to face Laus Playbook Esports on May 1.
