Atta’s Family Channel Hacked by Russians

Indonesia’s top YouTuber Atta Halilintar confirmed his family’s YouTube channel, Gen Halilintar, got hacked.

Atta reported this through his YouTube channel and his Instagram post. Not only the Halilintar family channel, but also Thariq’s YouTube channel, Atta Halilintar’s younger brother, got hacked.

The two hacked channels had lost all posted videos. It was replaced with 1 live video broadcast in Russian. The name of the Gen Halilintar channel was also changed to Ethereum Live News.

“Youtube CHANNEL GEN HALILINTAR [was hacked] by Russian Hacker! Including my (little) brother’s channel! This often happens to Indonesian YouTubers!” wrote Atta on his Instagram post.

Furthermore, Atta also requested to other Indonesian YouTubers to be more careful about the security of their private channels. Atta said to not easily entrust links on behalf of the official YouTube party.

“For YouTubers, be careful! Increase your security! Don’t easily trust the links on behalf of the official 🙏” continued Atta.

Atta finally asked his followers to report the hacked account.

“You can help by reporting, so that YouTube will know. As much as possible, for my younger brother Thariq and my family, their videos totally disappeared,” he said.

Thariq Halilintar also said the same thing in his Instagram post, regarding his hacked YouTube channel. With a sad tone, Thariq asked for help to report the incident to YouTube, so that his channel could return to normal.

“Help, guys, report to YouTube, do not report to the channel, so I can come back again,” said Thariq.

This hacking incident drew many kinds of comments. Many of them prayed for the return of their channels. Some of them, on the contrary, thanked to the Russian hacker. It is known that their channels often provide clickbait videos, even though the content hardly matches with the title or the thumbnail. They also often flexes their luxury items.

Currently, the two channels are back to normal. Thariq Halilintar and Gen Halilintar channels have returned with their videos, but the Gen Halilintar channel’s name remains Ethereum Live News. The Gen Halilintar channel has uploaded several videos about the condition when they discovered they were already hacked and their efforts to restore the channel.
