Virtus.pro Escapes NaVi To Enter TI Qualifiers Upper Bracket Finals

Virtus.pro escaped NaVi in a tight encounter, 2-1, in the upper bracket semifinals of The International 2023 – Eastern Europe on Thursday.

With the win, Virtus.pro moved a step closer to clinching a spot in The International 12 which will be held in Seattle, USA.

The team actually started the series on the wrong foot with NaVi bagging a 71-minute match in Game 1 that put them with a commanding 1-0 advantage over Virtus.pro.

Maksym “mellojul” Pnov’s Void Spirit led the way with 13 kills and 14 assists against one death while Maxim “shigetsu” Popadinec tallied eye-popping numbers of 15 kills and 17 assists against four deaths on Sven.

Virtus.pro started to gain steam in the second game, bagging a lopsided 31-9 win to even the series.

Ilya “squad1x” Kuvaldin had a perfect game for Virtus.pro, finishing with 11 kills and 11 assists without a single death on Earthshaker while Ilya “Kiritych” Ulyanov delivered nine kills, two deaths, and 15 assists on Monkey King.

Carrying their momentum from Game 2, Virtus.pro took it up a notch in Game 3 and dumped NaVi in 33 minutes with a score of 28-8 to seal their spot in the upper bracket finals.

Squad1x once again steered his team with 11 kills and seven assists against two deaths on Queen of Pain while Kiritych had seven kills and 13 assists without a death on Gyrocopter.

Virtus.pro will take on One Move in the upper bracket finale on Saturday.
