BetBoom got disqualified from their match against Tundra Esports in the first round of the Bali Major upper bracket after Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko was caught watching a stream, Thursday.
The Russian offlaner reportedly watched former HellRaisers midlaner Aleksandr “Nix” Levin live stream while their match against Tundra Esports was on-going.
BetBoom scored a 2-0 sweep over the reigning The International champions with the second match reaching almost two hours. The tournament organizers reversed the decision and handed Tundra Esports the win.
“This change is after an investigation on the potential cheating on yesterday’s match between BetBoom Team vs Tundra Esports,” said the Bali Major organizers.
“We have concluded that due to misconduct from a player, BetBoom’s win in this match will be voided. Hence, The Final score for the match between BetBoom vs Tundra is 2:0 to Tundra.”
Tundra Esports will proceed to the upper bracket semifinals against Team Liquid while BetBoom will face Azure Ray in the first round of the lower bracket.
