ECHO overcame the resilient Fire Flux Impunity from Turkey in a thrilling 2-1 victory, securing their place in the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup playoffs. They dominated their group stage matches and became the first team to qualify for the playoffs, held on Sunday, June 11 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Despite a surprising loss in Game 2, the MPL Philippines Season 11 champions rallied back with a commanding 18-0 triumph in Game 3, asserting their dominance and sealing the series.

The reigning M3 World Champions showcased their exceptional skill and left nothing to chance. Benedict “BennyQT” Gonzales made an early impact with a Maniac performance on his Wanwan pick. The team continued to excel, with Alston “Sanji” Pabico displaying brilliance throughout the series, ending with a flawless 6-0-11 record on Yve. BennyQT finished with an impressive 8-0-6 KDA, while Karl “Karltzy” Npomuceno contributed a 0-0-11 KDA on Akai.

Requiring just one more victory to secure their spot in the quarterfinals, ECHO took an early lead in the series with a 17-8 triumph in Game 1. However, ECHO faced difficulties breaking through Fire Flux Impunity’s formidable base defense, surviving three intense lord sieges despite being at a significant gold disadvantage.

The Filipinos relied on Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya’s flawless execution of his Terizla’s Penalty Zone ultimate, catching five Turkish players and initiating the decisive clash that concluded the first game.

Day Two of MSC 2023 also brought unexpected twists and an early departure for some teams. The opening match featured MY and MENA, where TODAK solidified their dominance in Group D with a remarkable 2-0 victory over Team Occupy. Despite Team Occupy’s focus on objectives, TODAK showcased their prowess in team fights, leading to a clean sweep by the Malaysian powerhouse.

RSG Slate SG dealt a decisive blow to the Fenixes, resulting in their premature exit from the tournament. It’s worth mentioning that two members of the Fenixes were unable to participate due to travel constraints. Their absence undoubtedly affected the match, and had they been present, it could have been a much more challenging contest. BRAYYY, RSG’s Jungler, acknowledged this fact in the post-match interview, highlighting the potential difficulties they could have faced if the Fenixes were at full strength.
