Yawi Calls Dewa United ‘Cockroaches’ After ECHO Win in WCG

ECHO roamer Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera called out Indonesian team Dewa United following his side’s 2-1 win over the latter in the World Cyber Games 2023 group stage last Saturday.

In a Facebook post, Yawi said that Dewa United can only win games via disqualification. He even called them cockroaches in the same post.

It can be remembered that Dewa United had Bren Esports disqualified during the qualifiers after one of the Filipino team’s players missed one number in his in-game ID during the registrations.

With Bren Esports disqualified, Dewa United automatically gained a slot in the group stage.

“GGWP DQ United ay Dewa pala! Mga ipis sa DQ lang kayo mananalo. Salamat sa slot sa Korea. Nagpa-DQ sa ESL vs. Archives tapos talo pa dito sa WCG,” said Yawi.

Both ECHO and its MDL team, ECHO Proud, qualified for the playoffs which will be held in Busan, South Korea later this month. There is a chance that both teams will faceoff in the finale.

Aside from the two Filipino squads, MDL Indonesia teams ONIC Overlord and EVOS ICON also made it to the final stage.
