MPL PH Return in Consideration for Geek Slate’s Baloyskie

Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy, the MPL Indonesia Season 11’s best roamer and Geek Slate star, is considering returning to the MPL Philippines scene after an impressive two-season stint overseas.

“Sobrang iniisip ko yon sobra talaga and nanonood ako ng mic check ng mga PH team. Nakakamiss kasi magcommunicate ng tagalog and tingin ko hindi ko pa nalalabas yung pinaka full potential kasi mas madali magshot call tagalog,” said the veteran player in an interview with select PH media

“Yung sahod medyo last na (to consider), pero pag nakita ko yung offer and team sobrang lakas kumbaga ngayon (kasi) hindi ko alam kung hanggang kailan ako nasa peak ko,” he added.

(I am really thinking about it a lot, and I am watching the mic checks of Philippine teams. I miss communicating in Tagalog, and I think I have not yet fully realized my potential as a shot caller because it’s easier to do it in Tagalog.”)

(“Salary is not the top priority for me to consider, but if I see the offer and the team is really strong, especially now that I don’t know until when I will be at my peak.”)

Baloyskie had hinted about retiring from playing and focusing on coaching after his team, Geek Slate, was eliminated in the playoffs by EVOS Legends. In a tweet, he wrote:

“Last season as player?.”

However, he later clarified that the tweet was just a momentary outburst of frustration. Moreover, he added that he was still open to anything, including a potential return to Geek Slate. He led the team to a historic playoff appearance this season.

“Actually, noong time na tinweet ko medyo upset ako sa sarili ko sabi ko kung kaya ba makipagsabayan. Dumating sa point na nalungkot ako. Out of emotion lang ang tweet na yon. Kung may nag offer, wala pa naman pero feeling ko anytime meron may mag-ooffer,” he added.

(Actually, when I tweeted that, I was a bit upset with myself, wondering if I could still keep up. I reached a point where I felt sad. That tweet was just out of emotion. If anyone offers me a deal, no one has yet, but I feel like someone will anytime soon)
