Alter Ego finally got over the hump last Thursday, taking down RRQ Hoshi, 3-1, in the upper bracket semifinals of the MPL Indonesia Season 11 playoffs at the JIExpo Kemaroyan Hall D2.

While Alter Ego’s improved gameplay was undoubtedly the driving force behind their significant victory, the advice provided by Blacklist International jungler Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario also contributed to their historic win, particularly in the series-clinching Game Four.

Wise, along with Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, made a reaction video featuring Alter Ego’s Game Two match against Bigetron Alpha in the play-in.

During the game’s 11-minute mark, Alter Ego – despite already losing the Black Dragon Form of Pai’s Yu Zhong – stayed inside Bigetron Alpha’s base in hopes of finishing off the match. Alter Ego suffered a four-man wipe right after.

“I told you to go back bang. You have no dragon. No dragon, no push. Oh my God!” said Wise.

Alter Ego went on to win Game Two, and eventually the series, to set up a date with RRQ Hoshi in the upper bracket semis. There, they made sure to take Wise’s words to heart which proved to be the game-changer in their Game Four triumph.

In the 9-minute mark of Game Four, Alter Ego managed to take down three RRQ Hoshi members and chased them all the way to their tier three turret in the bottom lane.

With Pai’s Black Dragon Form still in cooldown, Nino (Melissa) reminded the team of Wise’s advice and safely retreated.

“Remember Wise’s words guys. ‘No dragon, go back,’ said the Alter Ego gold laner.

Alter Ego will take on ONIC Esports in the upper bracket finals.
