If you never heard of Riyadh Masters, it is a US$4.000.000 tournament that strangely receives little to no attention. Why is it unknown?

Although Dota has never run out of high-paying tournaments, this particular one seems to be quite mysterious. The event, called Riyadh Masters, will be held in 20-24 July 2022 with a hefty prize pool of US$4.000.000.

Yet, nobody seems to give it any attention, and the tournament only gets a bare minimum promotion.

The latest announcement about the mentioned event is from a Twitter post by the organizer, Gamers8. They didn’t mention the teams which will be attending the tournament and simply announce the prize pool and dates.

Although many consider the prize pool to be quite luxurious, the poor planning of the tournament becomes the highlight.

Looking at their website, the same information consequently gets delivered without any substance. The website only displays bare minimum information such as the dates and the location.

However, upon further probing, it seems there is a tournament that acts as the qualifier for the Riyadh Masters.

The tournament is Gamers Without Borders, which lasts for weeks two months ago. From the Liquipedia page, it seems there are three teams that qualified for the event.

Team Liquid will be representing Europe, RNG representing Asia, and Deboosters representing Saudi Arabia. Although there are still 7 teams left, there is no further information about those 7 teams.
