Stockholm Major Confirmed On May 12th

The first major in 2022, Stockholm Major, will be held on May 12, 2022. Confirmed by Valve.

For fans of the competitive Dota 2 scene, they won’t have to wait long. Because next month, there will be the Stockholm Major which will bring in the best teams from various regions, except for EEU which is still being delayed due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Valve has even issued a date to play the Major event later, which is May 20-22.

Through Twitter, Valve announced that the Stockholm Major will be held by ESL One. Previously, Valve planned to hold The International 10 in Stockholm, Sweden. However, the Covid pandemic at that time was at its peak, not allowing Valve to hold it there.

Reluctantly, Valve moved The International 10 to Bucharest, Romania.

Although the major returned the hype to the professional Dota 2 scene, there were those who regretted the absence of teams from EEU due to the war. In particular, TI10 champion, Team Spirit, was forced to be absent from the major.

However, there are those who still hope that Team Spirit can still enter the major, even though they did not participate in the previous DPC EEU Season 2.
