Topson Spams Techies Mid With 77% Winrate

Techies rework disappointed the spammers because they looked weak, but apparently, Topson proved that the hero is now OP!

In accordance with its promise, Valve reworked Techies on patch 7.31 due to complaints from players. They thought that the previous iteration of Techies was very anti-fun and made the game not un-fun, both for their enemies and their friends. However, the rework is considered to make the hero very weak.

Apparently, Topson proved that the hero is very OP (overpowered), if the gameplay matches their strengths.

This statistic is revealed at Topson’s Dotabuff page, which is quite full of Techies. During patch 7.31, Topson’s win rate with the hero reached above 75%, to be exact at 77%. The builds that he made are also quite interesting, rushing Ethereal Blade, Octarine Core, and Boots of Travels.

In fact, if the game reaches the late game point, he buys a Wind Waker to escape, both for himself and his friends.

The skill build he took was also quite simple, with a focus on Sticky Bomb and Blast Off. It seems that Techies are currently more focused on prolonged team fights, no longer turtling in the base until both enemies and friends are bored. He is also now more suited to playing in the mid lane as a core.

Maybe because of this change, Techies players who are used to the old gameplay have to adapt again, and complained that the hero is very weak compared to pre-rework.
