Master The Basics (MTB) better put his money where his mouth is!

Blacklist International assistant coach MTB has some bold claims for his team. He, together with Bon Chan, worked on the team’s success back in the M3 World Championship.

After taking the crown, the team shifted to a hibernation mode with OhMyV33nus and Wise taking a break.

In an interview with Blacklist co-owner Tryke, MTB discussed the team’s success. In his notes, he mentioned how impressed he was with Wise’s choice of boring heroes.

He told that Wise, picking boring heroes, benefited the team’s success. MTB told Wise sacrificed picking boring heroes instead of flashy heroes.

Blacklist International Dictated Today’s Meta

Regarding this, the assistant coach talked about how Blacklist’s UBE dictated the meta in-game. He also added that players should be able to craft their own meta. Players who can’t should not be considered to become pro players, he said.

“If you’re in the pro scene, your mindset should be to not copy other players or team’s playstyles. You should make your own,” he stated.

Following his principle, he mentioned about Blacklist already made its own meta even before he joined the team. He also added that he believes Blacklist International is the meta.

Recently, many teams have shared their awe for the team’s success. MobaZane, BTK’s star player, already shared some of his views over Blacklist’s success.

He’s also one of the many players who integrated Blacklist’s playstyle in his games. Like many others, he also struggled to replicate it.

Aside from pro players, regular games have already shifted in meta. Recently, news came about stating games in high ranks shifted, with most following the UBE strategy made famous by Blacklist.

With several changes in the game caused by Blacklist, maybe they actually is the meta.
