ECHO all-star is not so shiny for MPL PH casters after all.
MPL Philippines Season 9 is just around the corner, and one of the most exciting teams to see is the revamped ECHO Esports roster.
Months ago, ECHO Esports acquired the biggest names right after the conclusion of M3 World Championship.
The team’s top acquisitions include Karl âKarlTzyâ Nepomuceno, Tristan âYawiâ Cabrera, and Frediemar â3MarTzyâ Serafico.
Although these names put a shine in everyone’s eyes, it also appears disturbing for top casters in the country.
Filipino casters Manjean and Uomi shared their views over ECHO’s lineup. In an interview, both casters shared their opinion that the team may actually face some chemistry issues.
For Manjean, the team may actually have some issues pertaining to leadership. The caster related his view for the players who recently led their teams, and will now be placed on the sidelines.
âWhen you form a super team, usually the first few stages will not likely work out. Thatâs because all of them are Batmans, you need to have a Robin,â Manjean told.
More so, the caster mentioned that aside from leadership concerns, the team may also be challenged by the pressure set by fans.
âWhatâs annoying here is, if youâre Yawi or KarlTzy, the expectations for them are super high. So, if you were in their shoes, for sure there will be an unconscious pressure since all eyes are on them,â he mentioned.
Uomi shared the same sentiments, adding that controlling players’ emotions, especially their egos, might be a major concern.
âThey need to remove their ego and have proper communication because thatâs a problem. You have 10 superstars, all of them have egos. Of course, there shouldnât be ego in the team but we donât know. Weâll have to see in their gameplay to know,â he told.
Now, it’s all up to ECHO to prove doubters wrong. For it, fans will definitely find it out as soon as MPL Philippines starts soon.
