Dota 2 Removes Supports for Lower PC Specs

Dota 2 is now compromising support for older systems to update its technology!

Valve has now moved to develop its technology following its update regarding The International 10 tickets sale.

In the update, the developers told that it will be updating for The International 2021 Compendium. In addition, it will also add new features to the Dota 2 client’s Spectator HUD.

Aside from such, another massive announcement from Valve says that it will be removing its support for older systems and configurations.

According to Valve, the removal will be on its way in the upcoming months.

Dota 2 Update on Older Systems Support

  • [Remove support] for Dota 2 across 32-bit systems, will fully push requirements to 64-bit machines and operation systems
  • [Remove support for macOS versions below 10.14
  • [Remove] support for DirectX 9 
    • DirectX 9 users will be pushed to DirectX 11 programming
  • [Remove] support for OpenGL
    • Will switch OpenGl usage to Vulkan
  • [Remove] support for XAudio (-xaudio) and switch to using SDL Audio (-sdlaudio)
Dota 2 Update

Based on Valve’s statement, the update will move the game towards better technologies in a very ‘convenient’ way.

Valve also claimed that the update will only affect very ‘few’ players as most are already using the new requirements.
