Years of existence and Dota 2 still remains buggy!

Dota 2 “Abandon” Bug Allegedly Ruins Yet Another Dota 2 Official Game

Despite several reports, the Dota 2 “Abandon” problem still exists in the game which causes players to instantly quit an ongoing game.

The reported event occurred recently during game two of the BTS Pro Series S8: Americas between D2 Hustlers and 4Gringos.

Yuma Benjamin Langlet “Yuma” Muckenhirn of the D2 Hustlers was unable to reconnect to the game after disconnecting due to this glitch. The bug had cost the team the game making them call ‘GG’ at 18 minutes.

The call was made despite the fact that the networth of the two teams was on equal footing. Following the recurrence of the glitch, Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn, a D2 Hustlers player, turned to Twitter to chastise Valve for its inability to solve it.

Davai Lama tweeted that the “Abandon” bug was causing problems for his D2 Hustlers team. The pissed Lama demanded Valve to fix the problem before it ruins any more games.

The admin indicated that they had no choice but to continue the game after D2 Hustlers’ pause time expired in the game versus 4Gringos. It was not possible to remake the film. At that time, the D2 Hustlers decided not to continue the 4v5 battle and entered ‘GG’ to end it.

Abandon Bug, a Dota 2 Recurring Issue

The said bug was first witnessed in July 2021. Troels “syndereN” Nielsen, a popular Dota 2 content creator, was the first victim of the bug.

The issue has also been blamed for Quincy Crew’s Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos abandoning a game against CR4ZY in August 2020. Similarly, Gambit Esports’ Albert “eine” Garaev experienced the bug in a game against Ninjas in Pyjamas in November 2020.

The long-standing "abandon bug" in Dota 2 that Valve never fixes

Up to date, Dota 2 remains to have the issue unresolved given the recent situation D2 experienced.
