TI 10 is Topson’s Last?

Two-time The International champion Topias Miikka ‘Topson’ Taavitsainen says TI 10 could be his last.

OG’s midlaner Topson expressed in an interview of The International 10 being his last in his professional career. According to Topson, his decision is still unsure although he plans to retire to spend more time with his family.

In his interview, he told that he might use his break to think about his future in the scene.

Currently, the two-time champ OG has yet to qualify for The International 10. This, despite the fact that they are the defending champions.

Topson’s run is one of the many that will be written in history. Topias has only joined two TIs and has won both of them in TI8 and TI9. Given his recent statement, it is now unsure if Topson will work on his third championship streak.

Topson Says He’s Thinking of Retiring

“It is a bit of a feeling that this may become my last TI, although I can not say anything for sure. Anyway, after the tournament, I will take a long break and focus on my family. At the same time, you can think about whether you will continue as a player or do something else.” he told in the said interview.

Taavitsainen also said that he might consider being an analyst or a streamer instead when he retires.

“I will probably try streaming again and I’ve been thinking about being involved in Dota tournaments as an analyst or something similar even after quitting. I will probably stay with Dota even if I don’t play anymore,” Topson emphasized.

Living in Malaysia After Retirement

Talking about his future, Topson mentioned moving into Malaysia to live with his wife Mawar Remy Taavitsainen who was born in the country.

“The intention would be to live in Malaysia for a few years in the future and then think things through. So far, I have not settled down permanently anywhere,” he said.

Topson will be joining his former teammates JerAx and Ana in retirement should he decide to call it quits at the end of TI 10.

Right now, Topson’s focus is locked on the regional qualifiers where OG is holding on its TI 10 lifeline.
