A Street Fighter’ish game on mobile?
Delightworks announced on Tuesday, April 27, that former Capcom developer Yoshinori Ono has joined the big mobile game group.
Delightworks, the creator of Fate/Grand Order, named Yoshinori Ono as their president and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Ono is famous for his works including the world-renowned Street Fighter, the game which he produced while he was in Capcom.
According to reports, Ono is set to take over Akihito Shoji’s position starting May 1. Shoji is the current president and representative director of Delightworks, and has now moved to become the chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the same company.
Before being affiliated with Delightworks, Ono spent 27 years of his career with Capcom. He started as a sound programmer for the company in 1993 before working a huge part in the creation of Street Fighter in 1997.
Ono left Capcom in August after huge changes that transpired within Capcom’s fighting game division.
Yoshinori’s move to become COO and president for Delightworks was announced through the company’s website where it was emphasized that he was joining the team to “manage the company from a more multifaceted perspective.”
Although Ono has yet to publicize his transfer, he told on his Twitter account that he had some conversations with Capcom’s heads about his new job.
‘It’s been six months since the last time I visited Capcom’s headquarters. I was able to brief the owner of Capcom about my new job.’ he told.
As Ono joins Delightworks, are we expecting huge and great changes in their future games, especially Fate/Grand Order?
