Being Placed in Lower Ranks? That’s Valorant’s Latest Bug

Looks like you need to be more mindful in queueing in ranked games for your placement!

As Episode 2, Act 3 starts, a new VALORANT bug seems to be disrupting players’ ranks after finishing their ranked placements.

The new patch has definitely introduced huge changes, including new skins and a new map. But it also brought in a huge bug that has pestered the game’s ranked games. Those who complete their placement matches are reported to receive lower ranks than those of the expected ones.

VALORANT admitted through a Twitter post that the game is indeed facing a huge bug and that solutions are still being planned out.

“We just caught a bug that caused incorrect ranked placements. A fix is in for players who have yet to play their placements, but we are working on a solution for those who were placed incorrectly. Stand by!,” VALORANT’s tweet read.

According to reports, players who are from Immortal rank are now back to Gold elo — a very big leap downward in the ranking system. This massive bug has disrupted the match making as some players would seem to play against smurfs, although they are on the same rank caused by the bug.

Riot Games also told that they are aware of the issue, and that remedies are in order for those players who are yet to finish their ranked placement games, although they are yet to announce their plans for those who are already done with their ranked placements.
