Being labeled a trashy game doesn’t seem to make Garena discouraged. On the other hand, the insults that were sent to Free Fire became a whip to increase the potential of its publisher.

The tournament that will be created will be named Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2021 Singapore (SG). This international tournament is claimed to be the first Free Fire competition on a global scale in the world.

Even though there was a previous FFWS competition, the FFWS in 2019 was only held offline, with a total prize pool close to $400,000.

Unlike the previous world series, FFWS 2021 offers a bigger prize pool amounting to $2,000,000.

The FFWS 2021 SG event itself will begin with the Play-ins round on May 22, followed by the Finals round on May 29. As the name implies, this competition will be held in Singapore.

In this competition, 22 teams from 14 regions will compete. The Play-ins round will bring together 12 teams that occupy first or second place in their respective regional level tournaments. Later, all teams in the Finals round will compete in six rounds on 3 maps, namely Bermuda, Purgatory, and Kalahari. The amount of points collected by each team depends on the team ranking in a round and of course the number of kills that were successfully obtained.

Hopefully this tournament can be a good start for Free Fire!
