Team SMG is showing its prowess this season with a remarkable victory over the reigning champion TODAK, securing a 2-1 win in the MPL MY Season 12 opener.
Guided by Ku Lhai “SaSa” Bean, the team boasts the talent of two Filipino players, Kenneth “Saxa” Fedelin and Deomark “Mikko” Tabangay, who played a pivotal role in their thrilling triumph over TODAK in a captivating best-of-three match.
Saxa had an outstanding debut in the MPL MY, making a significant impact in the first game with an impressive record of five kills, no deaths, and five assists.
TODAK showcased their resilience, bouncing back in the second game as Muhammad “CikuGais” Fuad’s crucial Maniac on Karrie at the 14-minute mark led them to equalize.
In the deciding match, Saxa once again demonstrated his prowess, this time on Fredrinn, securing four kills, zero deaths, and five assists.
As a result of their victory, Team SMG earned two points, while TODAK garnered one point for winning a single match in the series.
Looking ahead, Team SMG’s next challenge will be against HomeBois in the second week of the regular season, scheduled for August 26th, Saturday, at 3 p.m.
