Filipino team Nigma Galaxy and Chinese squad KeepBest Gaming dispute the WRL Asia 2023 Season 1 title on Sunday, July 23 at the JD Intel Esports Center in Beijing, China.

KeepBest Gaming got an outright spot to the finals after topping the round-robin stage of the finals with a 3-0 record while Nigma Galaxy had to crawl its way to the grand finals after taking down another Chinese team J Team in the semis.

Only four teams advanced to the Finals with Nigma Galaxy and KT Rolster qualifying through the APAC Conference while J Team and KeepBest secured their spots through the CN conference.

KeepBest Gaming though immediately stamped their class in the round-robin, making quick work of their foes to reach the grand finals.

J Team and KT Rolster then had to battle in the first stage of the step-ladder bracket with the former winning it with a 2-0 sweep, setting up a semis showdown against Nigma Galaxy who finished second in the round robin with a 2-1 record.

Nigma Galaxy however came out on top in the thrilling best-of-five series against J Team, the winners of last year’s Icons Global Championships, squeezing through with a 3-2 victory after being down 1-2 early on in the series.

The winner between Nigma Galaxy and KeepBest Gaming will bring home the very first WRL Asia title along with the top prize of $138,375.65
