Quest Esports revealed the reason why they decided to not push through with Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf’s loan from Nigma Galaxy.

In a series of tweets, Quest Esports unveiled that the 18-year-old offlaner requested for a renegotiation just days before the Riyadh Masters. The organization said the original plan was to buy out ATF’s contract after the loan ended after the Bali Major.

ATF, however, requested for a renegotiation of the terms just days before the Riyadh Masters which Quest Esports said was against their values.

Quest Esports also added that ATF wanted to continue the loan until after The International 12 which meant that the former OG star isn’t fully committed to the team’s cause and wanted to gauge the team’s chances in The International first before sitting down for a long-term deal.

“After our great results at Bali Major, it was disappointing when the others wanted to renegotiate the contract terms, a few days before Riyadh Masters. This is against our values, we had to say no,” said Quest Esports.

“ATF asked for new terms after the Bali Major and wanted his loan to continue until after The International 2023. His condition to commit fully only if he participated in TI didn’t match our team’s values,” the team added.

Quest Esports reiterated that their commitment to their players is beyond personal and financial gain.

“Our team’s commitment goes beyond personal and financial gain – it’s about the love for the game and shared success. Anyone who joins us must share this vision.”

With ATF in tow, Quest Esports finished third in the last and final tour of the Dota Pro Circuit Western Europe: Division I. They also placed fourth in the Bali Major.

The team said that they will be introducing their new offlaner soon.
