ONIC PH Announces Departure of Ryota, Lyrick

ONIC PH announced the departure of its longest tenured player, Nowee “Ryota” Macasa, last Monday night.

After his rookie season with Work Auster Force in the MPL Philippines Season 7, Ryota was picked up by ONIC PH where he spent the past four seasons.

“Ryota. has been our pillar since MPL-PH Season 8. He became the “experienced” player to guide our new roster before and always gave out his best,” said ONIC PH.

“Today, we say good bye to Ryota. May you continue to shine and always bring your positivity and jolliness inside you. Always remember that your ONIC family will always be there for you,” the team continued.

During his time with the squad, he played backup for Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera in Seasons 8 to 9 before sharing EXP lane duties with Landher “Dher” San Gabriel in Seasons 10 to 11.

Ryota recently played for the Philippine men’s national ML:BB team and helped the country get its third consecutive gold medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Also leaving the squad is assistant coach Lyrick. 

ONIC PH finished 5th-6th in Season 11, losing to RSG PH in the first round of the playoffs.
