After spending the past tour without a team, Australian offlaner Damien “kpii” Chok once again found himself picked up by a Filipino team for the Dota Pro Circuit Southeast Asia Tour 3: Division I.

For the longest time, the veteran offlaner has been teased about being an honorary Filipino after playing for multiple Dota 2 clubs and playing with numerous Filipinos over the years.

Following his stint with Chinese squad Newbie that saw them play in the The International 7 grand finals, kpii played for renowned Philippine esports organization Mineski where he teamed up with Ryan “Raging Potato” Qui and Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross – who is now his coach in Blacklist Rivalry.

He then transferred to TNC and played alongside young stars Armel “Armel” Tabios, Khim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, and Timothy “Tims” Randrup, who is now his teammate once again in the Tier One-backed squad.

Kpii had a brief stint with Team SMG and Talon Esports before finding his way back to the Philippines with Blacklist Rivalry.

When asked about staying in the Philippines for the nth time, the one-time DPC Major winner had a short but meaningful reply.

“Kpiinoy,” he said in jest. “Yeah. I love it here,” added kpii just moments after Blacklist Rivalry swept BOOM Esports, 2-0, to bag their first win in the last and final DPC tour of the year.
